THE HISTORY OF ENCORE STUDIO OF DANCE

ENCORE STUDIO OF DANCE opened its doors in the fall of 1977 by its founder, Lee (Burke) Harbon, who was a newly hired Physical Education Instructor in the Cudahy School System. She developed her love for dance and music in her preteen years and started her first dance studio, at age 14, in a small town in central Wisconsin. Many years later and armed with a strong background in dance, musical theater, a degree in Education, and that love of dance, she wanted to share with others. The studio grew and flourished for 15 years, adding a staff of four talented and dedicated teachers.

In 1992 she was destined to leave her career in pursuit of another; marriage and a move out of the state. The studio was passed on to one of her capable teachers and long time student, Kris (Puetz) Shabla . Marriages, starting families and moves within the state of Wisconsin have since been the path of the previous owners. Stacy Sieg is now the current Owner/Director. She had been Co-Owner for 5 years prior to sole-ownership.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We will teach with enthusiam, in a positive manner and bring out the joy and passion of dance in each and every student in a warm and nurturing environment.

We will provide students with a proper basis of technique and an appreciation of the various dance forms for all ages, levels and ability.

We understand everyone is in dance class for different reasons; for improving their physical fitness, learning self-confidence, developing coordination, or

FOR JUST PLAIN FUN!

Students will learn to work together as a team member as well as invidiually.

Finally, we as teachers will continue to grow and learn in order to stay current with the latest dance styles and teaching techniques that will benefit our students.

REGISTRATION

Encore Studio of Dance prides itself on working to accomodate our families busy schedules. We understand schedules fill up quickly, therefore we try to provide you with important dates as soon as we can and encourage early registration. We do ask that you understand dance is a commitment as well and it is impossible to accomodate every student's schedule. Students or Families (of the same mailing address) enrolled in three or more classes collectively receive a 10% discount each month (costume/tight fee not included in the discount). STUDIO RULES & POLICIES

Wear proper dance clothes, shoes & hair appropriate for each individual class

Instructors reserve the right to dicipline as necessary for improper dancewear in any class

Good attendance and commitment to practice is required

Instructors reserve the right to dicipline as necessary for poor attendance

Use restroom prior to or after class

Pick up after yourself in changing area, studio rooms and bathroom

Please be prompt in dropping off and picking up your dancers

All students must wait INSIDE the studio to be picked up. No one will be allowed out on the sidewalk

Hands off the mirrors, they are for looking, not touching

No gum allowed anywhere in the studio

Please no running - only dancing!

No Jewelry should be worn. iPods, MP3 players, cameras, etc. should be left at home. Cell Phones should be turned off or silenced and left in bags at all times! Label all shoes, dancebags, waterbottles, etc. Encore Studio of Dance is not liable for any lost or stolen items

Observers are allowed only at scheduled Open Houses

Class Cancellations due to inclement weather will be shown on TV Channels 4, 6 & 12 and posted on our website. A message will also be put on the danceline by 3:00pm. If one or a combination of the following School Districts are closed or evening activites cancelled, it is a good chance we will be too... St. Francis - Cudahy - South Milwaukee - Oak Creek

Complete respect and total politeness towards all Instructors and

fellow studio members is expected from EVERYONE!

Only SMILES, LAUGHTER and GOOD ATTITUDES are allowed!

DANCE ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS

Encore Studio of Dance staff reserves the right to discipline as necessary for improper dancewear in any class.

CLASS	DANCE ATTIRE REQUIREMENTS
Children's Dance-Intermediate	Black leotard, pink tights, black buckle tap shoes, pink ballet shoes, (skirts ok) hair pulled back away from face
Jazz/Tap Combination	Leotard, snug-fitting dance pants, hot shorts with tights, black jazz boot, black tap boot hair pulled back away from face

Hip Hop	See instructor for clothing, black hip hop sneakers required
Boys	There is no required uniform. Shoes requirements do apply.
Adult Classes	There is no required uniform for adult classes. Cool, comfortable clothing suggested.
